LONDON Pact XPP Technologies AG, a developer of a reconfigurable highly parallel processor architecture, has developed partnerships with two design services partners; Tata Elxsi and Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd., both of Bangalore, India.
Pact (Munich, Germany) claims the latest revision of the extreme parallel processing architecture (XPP-III) is suitable for delivering all contemporary streaming video codecs at high-definition resolution in a software programmable chip (see July 20 story).
The intellectual property portfolio of Tata Elxsi includes audio, video and imaging codecs, reference designs for technologies such as DVB-H, IPTV and multimedia streaming systems and interfaces such as IEEE 1394, Bluetooth, WLAN and WiMAX.
Sasken operates in the telecommunications area supplying wireless protocol stacks, multimedia codecs, applications and middleware. Sasken licenses silicon IP as well as IC design and development services to chip companies.
