BERLIN Poland's total IT market was worth $10 billion in 2007, up 25% year-on-year, according to the Polish state investment agency PAIZ, citing local reports.
Computer sales made up 65% of the IT market, which includes hardware, software and related services.
Poland's PC market, split evenly between desktops and notebooks, was worth $6.3 billion last year, representing a 25% increase from 2006.
Software accounted for 12% of the total IT market and sales increased by 14%.
Hewlett-Packard runs Poland's biggest IT company by revenues, estimated at $1.2 billion, according to PAIZ. HP has a 1000-person operation in Wroclaw,
Asseco Poland, Telekomunikacja Polska, Microsoft, IBM and Dell Computer are also among the largest IT companies in the country.
Dell recently announced it would double production at its PC factory in the city of Lodz.
